MILT GROSS — 20 full page Sunday funnies from the 1930s

Milt Gross (1895-1953) was a celebrated cartoonist and animator. He is also known for his screwball humor, mixing Yiddish in with the English. Many of Gross's books are still available from Amazon. I recommend his 1930 graphic novel in pantomime, HE DONE HER WRONG, and Craig Yoe's collection of Gross's comic book work from the forties, THE COMPLETE MILT GROSS COMIC BOOKS AND LIFE STORY (2010).

I found these pages online. Thank you to the anonymous scanner.

1000 JOKES magazine — complete issue — 1960

Full of gag cartoons and humor, 1000 JOKES MAGAZIINE number 92, from winter of 1959-60. Edited by Bill Yates.

Thanks to Jodyanimator for the scans. Readers may recognize comedian “Charlie Weaver” on the cover. A staple on television for decades, Charlie's real name was Cliff Arquette (1904-1974). He was popular with appearances on multiple late night talk shows, and HOLLYWOOD SQUARES. His son is Lewis Arquette, and his grandchildren are the actors Patricia, Rosanna, Alexis, Richmond and David Arquette.
